The Drum Bun project in brief

We are really glad to welcome you to our blog, thanks to which you will be able to follow us through our long worldwide trip that awaits us. This blog will enable you to go deep into the atypical artistic landscapes that we will discover on the five continents.

The idea of this project was born 7 years ago. Throughout the years, and as a result of our participation in numerous and authentic cultural and artistic events, the project has really taken shape. 

The Drum Bun project (“Have a good trip” in Romanian), is a social and cultural initiative; it is a human-scale project which encourages people to rediscover Art as it has never been seen, by revealing new dimensions from it - especially social ones.

In this perspective our cameras will spend 365 days filming the different gatherings and expressions of a new social synergy which shapes the artistic landscape as it is today.

Thus, by producing a documentary, our objective will be to show: 

- that indeed there is an international and diversified artistic community within which the concept of boundaries does not exist.

- that Art is a social vehicle for exchange and transmission of know-how and experience between men and women from the same planet, citizens of the world, at a time when the society is increasingly individualist.

- and that, in this perspective, there are indeed « anonymous » artists; that is to say that Art is not a luxury, but within everyone’s reach, and that each one of us can participate in the artistic landscape not only through creation but also by perpetuating traditions and sharing with the members of a community.  

In order to reach these objectives in the most authentic and sincere way possible, we will “infiltrate” the big “artistic and cultural doors” in each country, at small, medium or large scale festivals in which Art is a vehicle of exchanges. Then we will take a chance to work with smaller artistic communities, by means of “social networks” discovered once on the ground.

The Drum Bun Project

The Drum Bun Project was born from the encounter and the fusion of two different profiles and persons, Fanny Moreno and Laure Bardet, passionate about similar professional and personal expectations. Today, the Drum Bun association, which is behind the Drum Bun project, is composed of 4 members: Laure Bardet, Fanny Moreno, Nathalie Desforges and Ithar Gataa. One of our objectives is to promote cultural diversity among young people through reports (video or photo reports, interviews, travel journals) about artistic and cultural events.

Nous sommes très heureuses de vous accueillir sur notre blog grâce auquel vous pourrez nous suivre au cours de ce long périple autour du monde et qui vous plongera vous aussi dans des paysages artistiques atypiques sur les cinq continents!

Cela fait 7 ans que l’idée de ce projet est née. C’est au cours des années  et suite à notre participation à de nombreux et authentiques évènements culturels et artistiques que le projet a réellement pris forme. 

The Drum Bun project (comprenez « Bonne Route » en roumain), est un projet social et culturel ; un projet à échelle humaine, qui se propose de faire (re)découvrir l’art comme il n’a jamais été vu, en en dégageant de nouvelles dimensions et notamment une dimension sociale.

Pour cela notre caméra filmera, pendant 365 jours, les différents regroupements et expressions d’une nouvelle synergie sociale, participant au paysage artistique, tel qu’il est aujourd’hui.

A travers la réalisation d’un reportage notre objectif sera donc de montrer :

- qu’il existe bien une communauté artistique internationale et diversifiée au sein de laquelle le concept de frontière n’existe pas,

- que l’art est vecteur social, d’échanges et de transmission de savoirs et d’expériences entre des hommes et des femmes d’une même planète et citoyens du monde, à un moment où la société se veut de plus en plus individualiste ;

- et que, dans cette perceptive, il existe bien des artistes « anonymes », que l’art n’est pas un luxe, qu’il est à la portée de tous, et qu’un chacun peut participer au paysage artistique non seulement à travers la création mais aussi en perpétuant les traditions et le partage avec les membres d’une communauté.

Afin d’atteindre ces objectifs de façon la plus authentique et sincère qu’il soit, nous tâcherons de nous « infiltrer » par les grandes portes artistiques et culturelles de chaque pays, c’est-à-dire à l’échelle de festivals de petite, moyenne ou grande envergure au sein desquels l’art est vecteur d’échanges. Puis nous nous hasarderons ensuite au sein de communautés artistiques plus petites, par le biais de « réseaux sociaux »,  découverts une fois sur place.
